After seven years since its inception, The Bola Sol Show made a much-anticipated return at UK Black Business Week 2024, and it was nothing short of inspiring!
This wasn’t just a relaunch; it was a collective celebration of voices, stories, and experiences where every guest was a co-host and a star in their own right.

Lessons on Forgiveness and the Power of Owning Your Story
Reviving the show after so long came with many reflections, especially around forgiveness—learning to let go, understand, and make peace with the past. Forgiveness frees up space within us to grow and move forward, both personally and professionally. It also reinforced why owning our intellectual property (IP) is so important. When we own our narrative, we create a platform that is truly ours, where our voices can thrive without restriction. It’s about empowerment and freedom—values that were at the heart of this show.
Mental Health and Breathwork with Celine
We began the day by grounding ourselves with a breathwork session led by Celine. Mental health isn’t just a topic; it’s the foundation that shapes how we show up in every area of our lives. Celine’s session was the perfect way to get everyone centred and prepared for the in-depth, authentic discussions that followed. It reminded us all of the importance of mental wellness and how we can weave it into our daily routines.
Generational Wealth: A Blueprint for the Future
Our next session focused on generational wealth—an essential conversation for the Black community. We explored strategies and mindsets to create lasting financial stability. This wasn’t about quick wins; it was about real, practical steps to build a legacy that lasts. Our guests shared their experiences, and the audience contributed valuable insights, making this session empowering and thought-provoking for everyone in the room. It's important to note that I purposefully didn't record the show to be put on the internet as I wanted to provide a safe space for everyone to speak freely and without virtual judgement.
Relationships with Charlie Mase: Real Talk with Real People
One of the most popular sessions was on relationships (of course), with the brilliant Charlie Mase joining me to dive into the highs and lows of love and partnership. But it wasn’t just us—the audience joined in, sharing personal stories, including couples who have been married for 25 years! Hearing these voices was both inspiring and eye-opening, adding real depth to the conversation and reminding us all of the beauty and resilience in long-lasting relationships.
Femininity & Masculinity in Today’s World
We closed the day with an engaging discussion on femininity and masculinity, featuring Ayo Disu, Nego True, and Qoy. This session explored how these concepts are evolving, and how they shape our relationships, personal growth, and societal roles. It was a refreshing dialogue that left many of us reflecting on our own perspectives and how we navigate these ideas in our day-to-day lives.
